The YATP Provides an optional program specialized in planning the transition of high school students who completed the alternate assessment requirements. Eligible students can remain in the program up to three years and exit the semester of their 21st birthday. Decisions to attend the YATP are made during ARC meetings of the student's junior and senior year of high school.
Students in the program are given planned support systems in order to be successful as they transition to adulthood that includes stakeholders such as parents, businesses, community members and district staff. |
Students are given the opportunity to participate in orientations and site visits to the program during middle and high school enrollment.
Planning for the YATP is implemented in the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) while enrolled in Special Education. In order to attend the YATP, a Future's Planning Meeting is scheduled with the family, district staff and outside service providers.
